Recognizing letter patterns within a cryptogram is key in deciphering them. In the previous article we covered the “THE” and and “THERE” and how to detect these when encrypted. There are many other longer words containing “THE”. Among them are: THEM, THEN, THEY. Among 5 letter words a common pattern emerges in the words “THERE” and “THEIR”. Encrypted these might appear as “UYPVP and UYPKV”.
